Glory Leviton Dimmer 2 Black Wires

I have an old leviton three way dimmer.

Leviton dimmer 2 black wires. Replace the old single pole 2 wire fan toggle switch on the right side of the diagram. Can you answered by a verified electrician. When you take off the other switch you will see 2 black wires hook them up the same way to the dimmer and the green is the ground.

Where do these leads go. Connect it to either the other grounds in the box the switch is. Where do these leads go.

I detached the old one and purchased a new one after capping the live wires of course. One black was screwed into a red cable wire in the wall but the other black was screwed into two black wires coming out of the wall. The dimmer has two black leads and one green.
